A Metropolitan Police Officer has been suspended after he was arrested on suspicion of theft.

The male officer was held after property belonging to police went missing.

The Westminster-based officer was then arrested over a further theft.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said the officer was arrested on 13 July and has been bailed until mid October while an investigation takes place.
