Ashcotts Criminal Solicitors Manchester represented a young man wrongly accused of being part of a Criminal Conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.
Police had arrested and charged our client along with 2 others with allegations of being involved in organised crime namely the supply of heroin. Our client was arrested driving a hire car containing the other 2 accused which had been observed by Police Officers and was subsequently subject to a ‘hard’ stop by the Police.
A quantity of drugs were found however Ashcotts client maintained his innocence and was represented by Ashcott Criminal Solicitors throughout together with an expert trial barrister namely Ms Sarah Barlow of Broadway House Chambers Leeds & Bradford. During the trial the Police whom had observed the hire vehicle and arrested our client were subject to rigourous cross examination by Ms Barlow during the trial. In addition Ashcott Criminal Solicitors were able to call financial evidence as part of the clients case that the hire cars had been paid for by legitimate funds and that there may well have been nothing sinister in our clients use of the same.
We can confirm following Ms Barlows excellent closing speech to the jury that our client was unanimously acquitted at the Crown Court.
Interestingly the 2 co accused whom had been represented by differant legal teams had pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to the Conspiracy and currently await sentence.
